ESPN.com is reporting that the Red Sox are being considered the favorites to submit the winning bid for Cuban RHP
Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez. Say's Stark,
"...the Red Sox are the favorite, because, more and more, they like the idea of spending the money on a guy they believe is big league-ready more than overpaying in prospects for just about any pitcher on the trade market." This plays into the new "discipline" that the Red Sox are employing with regard to prospects. It's estimated that Gonzalez will cost the winning bidder upwards for $60 million for five years.
