Ex-Sox Pitcher Matt "Mister Infinity" Perisho Turns Forty-Three-Years-Old

He was here ever so briefly. Matt Perisho logged the following pitching line as a member of The Carmine Hose: 1 game, 0.0 innings pitched, 1 batter faced, 1 hit, 1 run, ERA= "infinity". Now there's something to engrave on a plaque to show your grand-kids. Perisho—an eight-year MLB veteran—came to the Red Sox as a free agent in August of 2005. A little over a month later, he was released by the team. The lefty's career stats were: 11-17, 6.39 ERA—a lot better than the "infinity" line he had here, but still pretty ugly. In addition to his cup of cappuccino in Boston, Perisho played for the Rangers, Angels, Marlins and Tigers. We wish him a very happy birthday!
