Red Sox Prospect Daniel Flores Passes Away At Age 17

Daniel Flores
The future for Daniel Flores was bright and promising. The Venezuelan native signed a $3.1 million bonus with the Red Sox this past July. Yesterday, at the age of 17, Flores passed away due to complications during cancer treatment. There was shock and sadness throughout the Red Sox organization. Flores was regarded as the best catching prospect since Gary Sanchez. He had barely started his baseball journey and it was over. Said Dave Dombrowski: "To see the life of a young man with so much promise cut short is extremely saddening for all of us. On behalf of the Red Sox organization, I would like to extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to Daniel’s family."
