After missing his third straight game,
Dustin Pedroia may wind up on the disabled list with lingering soreness in his left knee. Said manager
John Farrell,
"The improvement that’s being made is slight at this time. I can’t rule out the DL at this point, particularly based on the information that we’ll get. We’ve got to see how that unfolds." That doesn't exactly sound encouraging. Up until this respite, Pedroia had been having a
monster July. Losing him in a stretch where we need to face
both Tampa and New York would really hurt.
