It's been a long, circuitous journey for 28-year-old Branford, Connecticut-native Mike Olt. He was the number one draft pick of the Texas Rangers back in 2010—making a disappointing debut with the big club in 2012. Traded to the Cubs, White Sox and Padres since, he has had only spotty success at the major league level. Now, Olt has signed a one-year deal with the Red Sox. Details are unclear, but it is most likely a minor-league pact. Hopefully he can regain whatever it was he once had to make him a top prospect.
