'A-Bad' Start To Reliever's Boston Career, Sox Fall, 5-4

(AP Photo)
Things were going swimmingly. The Red Sox were up 4-0 and David Price was cruising into the eighth inning (we are ignoring Dave O'Brien's clear jinxing of things by mentioning this at the start of the eighth inning). Then, the deluge. Price (all of a sudden) can't get anyone out and exits trailing 4-2. New reliever Fernando Abad—brought on to be a late-inning lefty specialist—coughs up a three-run HR to a lefty. Game. Set. Match. Mariners win, 5-4. Hanley Ramirez did hit his 14th HR—but then he injured his wrist heading into the clubhouse. All in all, a capital night for your Carmine Hose!
