Red Sox Trade 3B Garin Cecchini To Brewers For Cash

After designating him for assignment with the acquisition of David Price, the Red Sox traded once highly-touted 3B prospect Garin Cecchini to the Milwaukee Brewers for cash considerations. Cecchini had fallen precipitously down the organizational food chain the last two years—after being ranked as high as third in the system. Once he moved beyond AA, he really dropped off the charts. He played in just 13 games for the big club in 2014 and 2015—enjoying the classic "cup of coffee" in both seasons. Still just 24, he could see a rejuvenation of his career in the Brewer organization. We wish him well.
