After driving in the tying run yesterday in a 3-2 Cardinal victory, A. J. Pierzynski took a parting shot at the situation he left in Boston. Said Pierzynski, "I'm just happy to be able to play and contribute on some kind of level. It doesn't matter what the situation is, but it's just nice to be in a pennant race and have the opportunity to contribute --and go back to having fun again. It wasn't very fun (in Boston). Baseball had become sort of a job. But since I've come here, it's really become fun and I'm grateful for the opportunity." From the reaction of the clubhouse after A.J. left, it appears he wasn't much fun to have around either.
