gotta love this piece of news! Reports indicate the
The Evil Empire tried to trade for
both Jon Lester and
John Lackey,
but the Red Sox refused to deal them to their bitterest rival. As we now know, Lester was instead dealt—along with
Jonny Gomes—to Oakland for
Yoenis Cespedes and Lackey was dealt to the Cardinals for
Allen Craig and
Joe Kelly. No word on who
The Pinstriped Posers would have sent back to Boston in a deal—but, who cares? Kudos to the NOG for only agreeing to send
Stephen Drew to
