According to Tim Dierkes of MLBTradeRumors.com, multiple teams are expected to check in on former Red Sox closer Joel Hanrahan in Spring Training. Hanrahan is already throwing off a mound—well ahead of schedule—from his May 2013 elbow surgery. The big right-hander was a major disappointment with The Carmine Hose (9.82 ERA in 9 games), but—indirectly at least—was responsible for the eventual emergence of Koji Uehara. 'Nuff Ced. Boston traded Ivan De Jesus, Mark Melancon, Stolmy Pimentel and Jerry Sands to Pittsburgh in exchange of Hanrahan and Brock Holt. Bad trade, BenCher! No biscuit!
