Bucky Dent's Kid Breaks Up Spinners' Perfecto

Cody "F." Dent, (Auburn Citizen Photo)
Last night, a trio of pitchers for Boston's Class A Lowell Spinners was two outs away from a perfect game. Then, Cody Dent came up to the plate for the Auburn Doubledays—the single A affiliate of the Washington Nationals. Dent is the son of Russell Earl Dent, better known in these environs as "Bucky F. Dent". In case you've been living in the transit zone of the Moscow Airport for the past 35 years (Edward Snowden reference required by our NSA handlers), Bucky Dent hit the cheapest home run in Fenway history to beat The Carmine Hose in the one-game playoff against The Evil Ones on October 2, 1978. Yesterday, the younger Dent blooped a cheap single to center (of course) to break up Lowell's perfect game. Folks, you just can't make this stuff up.
