Red Sox Are Among Three Suitors For K-Rod

(US PRESSWIRE Photo)
According to multiple reports, the Red Sox are one of three teams interested in acquiring Brewers reliever Francisco Rodriguez (AKA K-Rod). Although the conventional wisdom is that K-Rod is a shell of his former dominant self, he has compiled an impressive record in 2013 (1.09 ERA, 25 appearances, 10 for 10 in saves). Reportedly, the Dodgers and Tigers are also in on the right-hander—although the Red Sox probably have the best batch of mid-level prospects to offer Milwaukee. The Red Sox bullpen has been devastated, with the loss of two closers (Andrew Bailey and Joel Hanrahan) along with lefty specialist Andrew Miller and the disappearance into the Reliever Protection Program of Daniel Bard. Paging Alfredo Aceves!
