American League East Is Once Again A Beast

If the season ended today, three of the five American League playoff teams would come from the AL East. Your own Carmine Hose would avoid the ridiculous "one-game-play-in" and await the survivor of the Rays-Orioles elimination contest. This marks the resurgence of our division after a few of the perennial powerhouses suffered declines over the past couple of years. Even The Evil Ones have somehow managed to stay afloat without four of their premier players (reluctantly, we'd have to give AL Manager of the Year right now to Joe Girardi). We could very well have a scenario where all five division teams have records over .500—which hasn't been done in eons. Right here at home, the next four games against the Tampa Bay Rays may well determine who sits atop the division when all is said and done. The Beast is back.
