Could Sox Re-Acquire David Aardsma For 'Pen?

Aardsma With Sox In 2008
The Miami Marlins have released former Red Sox relief pitcher David Aardsma—after just signing him to a deal on April 13th. The 31-year old right-hander had pitched well in AAA for the Marlins—posting a 2.57 ERA. Aardsma pitched for the Red Sox in 2008 going 4-2 with a 5.55 ERA over 48 2/3 innings. He followed that up with two stellar years as Seattle's closer—getting 38 saves in 2009 and 31 saves in 2010. Re-acquiring Aardsma—another guy who could close—might be a smart move by BenCher in light of the chaos in the 'pen right now. Stay tuned!
