POLL: 'Tek And Rocket Tied As Most Worthy To Have Red Sox Number Retired

Very early voting in our latest FenwayNation Poll shows that Jason Varitek and Roger Clemens are tied as the most worthy Red Sox players to have their uniform number retired on the right-field facade at Fenway Park. As the chart shows, both 'Tek and The Rocket garner 19% of the vote, followed by both Tony Conigliaro and Dwight Evans at 14% each. Next on the list is Nomar Garciaparra at 10%, then both Fred Lynn and Manny Ramirez coming in with 5% each. Interestingly, 10% think someone other than those listed on the poll are deserving of this honor, while 5% think none of those listed are worthy of number retirement.
