Starting Tonight, Forget About Getting To Fenway Park By Car—Try Walking

The Boondoggle
Thanks to your ever-efficient Massachusetts state government, starting tonight, it will be virtually impossible to get to Fenway Park. Between July 26th and August 11th, the "Commonwealth Avenue Replacement Project" (which disrupted traffic last year) will absolutely flummox anyone trying to see a Red Sox game. Not only will Commonwealth Avenue be off-limits to cars (between Brighton Avenue/Packard’s Corner and Kenmore Square), but the B.U. Bridge is closed, too! So, basically, rickshaws, walking or parachuting onto the field are the only realistic alternatives. Even public transportation is impacted by this infrastructure boondoggle—including the MBTA Green B Line, Bus Routes 47 and CT2, Commuter Rail Worcester Line, and Amtrak's Lake Shore Limited route. So, prepare for 17 days of horror. Folks, you just can't make this stuff up.
