Bogie Walk-Off Salami Begins New Sox Winning Streak, Beat Jays In 10, 6-2

It's hard to believe that today's was just the second "walk-off" win by your Carmine Hose this year. In the bottom of the 10th inning, Xander Bogaerts hit a 2-0 pitch into the flagpole triangle in center for his third grand slam of 2018 in Boston's 6-2 win. After leading 1-0 on J.D. Martinez's 29th HR (and 80th RBI), the bullpen coughed up two runs. The reason the bullpen was in play was a freak injury to Eduardo Rodriguez on a play at first base—resulting in a sprained ankle for the lefty (although X-Rays were negative). ERod ended up going 5.1 shutout frames—extending his scoreless streak to 19 innings. He walked none and struck out five. Jackie Bradley, Jr. had the other RBI on the day—with a ringing double to tie the game at 2-2 in the ninth. An Indian win tonight would push the Red Sox lead in the AL East to 4.5 games.
