Before Draft, Red Sox First-Round Pick Wished For A Special 'Lunch' Partner

Triston Casas—Boston's first-round pick in the 2018 MLB Draft—might have earned some positive karma in an earlier, pre-draft interview with MLB.com. The lefty-swinging 3B/1B was asked who (living or dead) he would like to have lunch with. With virtually no hesitation, the kid gave the best possible answer for every Red Sox fan—Ted Williams. And, to make the answer all the more cool, he was being interviewed while standing in Yankee Stadium. All those good vibes may have had something to do with him getting selected yesterday to wear Carmine Hose—just like The Splendid Splinter. Hey, who knows—this is the Red Sox, after all?
