Bobby Poyner is "poised" to be a lefty out of the Boston bullpen come Opening Day. The team optioned LHPs
Robby Scott and
Roenis Elias to AAA, along with infielder
Tzu-Wei Lin. Backstop
Dan Butler, infielder
Iván De Jesús Jr., and OFs
Rusney Castillo and
Aneury Tavárez were sent down to minor league camp. With the trade of
Deven Marrero,
eight spots have been vacated off the Boston roster—which needs to get down to 25 by Thursday.
