Red Sox Sign IF Ivan DeJesus Jr. To Minor-League Pact

He had a small cup of decaffeinated coffee with the Red Sox in 2012 (as part of The Great Nick Punto Deal), and now IF Ivan DeJesus Jr. has returned to the organization. Boston announced that it has signed the 30-year-old to a minor-league contract. DeJesus performed well in the Brewers system last year—hitting .345 in 112 games at AAA. He will likely compete for a spot on the roster to serve as severely-needed infield depth—at least for the first part of the 2018 season until Dustin Pedroia returns from injury.
