Five New MLB Hall Of Famers Could Be Named Tonight

Based on the tabulations of public voting, it appears that five players could be enshrined into the MLB Hall Of Fame in 2018. Tonight's 6PM Eastern announcement (MLB Network) could possibly name: Chipper Jones, Jim Thome, Vlad Guerrero, Trevor Hoffman and Edgar Martinez as the new inductees into Cooperstown. The only other time that five players were named in one class was in 1936—the inaugural class of the Hall. In our view, Jones, Thome and Guerrero should be locks for the Hall, with Hoffman and Martinez as borderline (although both were wicked good). So, if all five get in it will be a crowded, yet worthy, group.
