According to a report by
The Boston Globe's
Nick Cafardo,
the Red Sox were one of the teams that inquired about the availability of 3B Manny Machado from the Orioles. You may recall a little dust-up between Machado and
Dustin Pedroia a while back—so the idea of putting him on the Red Sox might seem a little far-fetched.
Although,
David Price was no favorite of Red Sox players before
he donned
Carmine Hose. And now, performance aside, he is regarded as one of the best-liked players in the clubhouse. So, conceivably, Machado—who is, after all, an elite talent—might actually work in Boston for a year (or more if things worked out in 2018). Once again, good to know Dave is awake.
