Luis Tiant On MLB's Modern Era Hall Of Fame Ballot

It looks as if Red Sox great Luis Tiant will have an additional opportunity to gain his rightful place in the Major League Baseball Hall Of Fame. 'El Tiante' will appear—along with nine others—on the Modern Baseball Era ballot to be voted upon Dec. 10 at this year's Winter Meetings in Florida. The others on the ballot are: Steve Garvey, Tommy John, Don Mattingly, Marvin Miller, Jack Morris, Dale Murphy, Dave Parker, Ted Simmons and Alan Trammell. Anyone who is named on 75% of the ballots cast will earn election to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and be inducted in Cooperstown on July 29, 2018. Each member of the Modern Era committee can vote for as many as five candidates. As we have reminded our readers as often as we can, FenwayNation's Editor-In-Chief got an RBI off Mr. Tiant at the 1992 Red Sox Fantasy Camp (see photo evidence). Good luck, Luis!
