According to
Jon Heyman of
FanRagSports.com,
the San Francisco Giants are the most likely team to successfully trade for super-slugger Giancarlo Stanton. Despite compiling the worst record in the National League, the Giants are viewed as attractive because: 1.) they are on the Left Coast (Stanton wants to be on
a coast, but prefers Left), and 2.) they are committed to contend in 2018
without a rebuild (important to Stanton). The Cardinals and Phillies are also in the top tier of suitors—but the Phillies will flat out stink for a while and the Cardinals (unless 'climate change' happens
real fast) are not currently on either coast. Interestingly, despite all of the speculation about strong interest by the power-starved Red Sox, Heyman sees Boston's position as—at best—speculative. Stay tuned!
