Andrew Benintendi went 5-5 with two homeruns in Boston's July 4th romp over the Texas Rangers. It's the first time a player logged 5 hits and 2 long-balls on Independence Day since George Crowe of the Reds way back in 1957. The 22-year-old LF also made a spectacular leaping catch to rob former Carmine Hoser Mike Napoli of extra bases. David Price had what might be his best start of the year—going six solid innings and giving up no earned runs in the eventual 11-4 victory. The lefty struck out nine Rangers and walked just two. The Red Sox clubbed out 19 hits—with multiple hit games from (in addition to Benintendi): Jackie Bradley, Jr. (3-5), Christian Vazquez (3-5), Tzu-Wei Lin (3-4), Mitch Moreland (2-4) and Hanley Ramirez (2-5). Boston's win increased their lead in the AL East to four full games—after The Bronx Embalmers lost at home.
