Multiple reports now suggest that
the Red Sox are on the verge of acquiring White Sox 3B Todd Frazier. Probably due to Frazier's lousy 2017 numbers (.207 BA), the cost of such a trade would be minimal. In fact, one report suggested that Boston would not need to give up any of its
Top Ten prospects. Chicago, however, does want the Red Sox to eat part of Frazier's 2017 salary. That should be reasonable enough for
Dave Dombrowski to pull the trigger on a deal. Boston cannot afford to go forward with their current hot corner options in a competitive pennant race. Despite his low average, Frazier does have 16 HRs this season—and ended up with 40 last year. Stay tuned, this could happen quickly.
