Betts And Sale Have Legit Shot At MVP With Trout Out

As rightly pointed out by Chris Bahr of FOXSports.com, both Chris Sale and Mookie Betts have a better than average chance at the AL MVP award with Mike Trout side-lined for 6-8 weeks. Bahr asserts that the two Carmine Hosers—and thirteen others in the Junior Circuit—have legitimate shots at the prize this year. Clearly, Pinstriped Poser Aaron Judge is a serious contender for both MVP and Rookie of the Year —a double tribute that only Fred Lynn (1975) and Ichiro have captured. Thus, Judge is likely to only nab one (probably 'ROY'). Likewise, if Chris Sale is a top contender for the Cy Young, his MVP stock will probably slip some. Only ten pitchers have pulled off MVP/Cy honors—including Boston's Roger Clemens in 1986. This whole MVP thing could be very interesting.
