Ex-Sox Bartolo 'Big Sexy' Colón Turns Forty-Four Today

He was only here for one season—making just seven starts—but Bartolo Colón still made an impact on the Red Sox. In 2008, Colón went 4-2 with a respectable 3.92 ERA. Over 39 innings pitched, he walked 10 and struck out 27. Tell the truth, wouldn't you take those stats from any fifth starter in the 2017 Boston rotation? Over an amazing 20-year career (still going!), he's compiled 235 wins and an ERA of 3.97. Interestingly, his ERA numbers are nearly identical for his time in the American League (3.97) and the National League (3.96). Pretty good stuff! Today, 'Big Sexy' turns 44. We wish Bartolo the best on his birthday!
