On Monday, the
Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA)
announced the three finalists for a number of 2016 awards—including
Most Valuable Player and
Cy Young in the American League. Our own
Mookie Betts is one of the three MVP finalists—along with
Jose Altuve of the Houston Astros and
Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. And,
Rick Porcello is one of three finalists for the American League Cy Young Award—along with
Corey Kluber of the Cleveland Indians and
Justin Verlander of the Detroit Tigers. The Cy Young Award will be announced on November 16th, the MVP on November 17th.
