Sox Maintain Two-Game Lead, Smite Empire Again, 7-4

Clay Buchholz was his usual frustrating self, and almost impossible to watch, but he "powered through" (as Hillary Clinton might say) and lasted six innings. The tall, lanky Texan gave up just two runs—although it seemed like ten—and got his seventh victory in Boston's 7-4 win. Everyone in the bullpen—except the aptly-named Fernando Abad—performed well again. The offense was paced again by the red-hot Hanley Ramirez—going 2-3 with two RBIs, including another crushed HR. Dustin Pedroia, David Ortiz and Mookie Betts also had two hits apiece. The win pushed The Evil Ones to six games back in the AL East—putting a severe damper on their playoff hopes.
