Padres To Honor Ted And Papi Tonight At Petco Park

Williams (L); Ortiz (R)
Both the Red Sox and Padres will play in "throw-back" 1930s uniforms tonight as part of a celebration that will honor two great Boston heroes: Ted Williams and David Ortiz. Williams—a native of San Diego—started out with the Padres of the minor-league Pacific Coast League in 1936. Eighty years later, Teddy Ballgame is regarded as the greatest hitter who ever lived—and the greatest Red Sox player ever. Ortiz will be presented with a retirement gift by former Red Sox play-by-play man Don Orsillo—who now broadcasts Padres games. Do you think NESN will carry the whole thing—Donny included? Tune in and find out! Either way, it should be a memorable night at the ballpark.
