After two crushing road losses where the offense could not get untracked, it was announced that rookie LF
Andrew Benintendi is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a left knee sprain. Yesterday, the 22-year old phenom engaged is
some baseball activities. Today, he will be fitted with a knee brace—that will allow him to ramp-up those activities even further. Despite the progress, Benintendi is not expected to return to the lineup during this road trip—which ends next Sunday in
SkyDome (
never to be referred to as
Rogers Centre). Look for a
possible return during the Baltimore series at Fenway starting on September 12th—which would be
much quicker than originally anticipated.
