Mookie Betts |
Don't look now, but
Mookie Betts is having a
ridiculous year. Of course, we all know this—but his stats are starting to make
everybody notice. As of this morning, Mookie is in the
American League Top Ten in: total WAR, position player WAR, offensive WAR, batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, on-base plus slugging, runs, hits, total bases (he's #1 in this), doubles, triples, RBIs and extra-base hits (#2 behind only
David Ortiz). And he's not that far out of the Top Ten for HRs. Even with 49 games left, I think it's safe to say that Mookie is the odds-on favorite to become the 2016 Red Sox Player Of The Year.
