Let's hope the 'crack' Red Sox medical team is—
for once—right. The word is that catcher/LF
Blake Swihart underwent successful left ankle surgery yesterday in North Carolina. As revealed earlier, it's season-ending surgery for the young switch-hitter. He is scheduled to be fully ready for the start of the 2017 season. Amazingly, he played in only 19 games this season (it seemed like a whole lot more), batting .258. Here's hoping the kid comes back healthy and hacking next year!
