Red Sox Victimized By 'Kelly's Zeroes', Lose 13-9

Thankfully, Joe Kelly is safely ensconced in AAA this morning, after another horrendous start left the Red Sox 13-9 losers in Baltimore. The wacky righty went just 2 1/3 innings—giving up seven earned runs. Amazingly, even with five Boston HRs—two more by the amazing Mookie Betts—it wasn't enough to overcome a crappy Kelly start. In addition to Betts' two bombs, Chris Young went yard twice, while David Ortiz also homered. Ominously, Clay Buchholz stunk in relief—going 3 1/3 innings and giving up four runs (three earned). Andover High School's Ryan Hanigan knocked in two runs on the night, and Dustin Pedroia collected three more hits. But, alas, too little.
