Red Sox Get Healthy On Twinkie Pitching, Win Big, 8-1

Good pitching and timely hitting—lots of timely hitting. Those are the key elements of baseball victory. On Friday night, the Red Sox had it all working in a decisive 8-1 win over Minnesota. Steven Wright had another quality start—going 7 1/3 innings and giving up just one earned run. The knuckleballer now owns the lowest ERA in the American League at 2.09. Xander Bogaerts had another ridiculous night—going 4-5 and slamming a three-run HR that put Boston ahead to stay. Dustin Pedroia continued his resurgent season getting three more hits and extending his hitting streak to sixteen games (the longest active streak in MLB). Jackie Bradley, Jr. had two hits and knocked in two—moving his average to .317. A solid win and the pick-up of a full game on the losing O's.
