Top Sox 1B Prospect Travis Out For Year With Torn ACL

One of the brightest emerging stars in the Red Sox constellation was sidelined for the rest of the year by an torn ACL. Sam Travis, a rapidly advancing first base prospect, was injured in a run-down play in yesterday's PawSox game. Travis was doing well at AAA and was targeted as a possible first base option in 2017 after the retirement of David Ortiz and the shift of Hanley Ramirez to DH. This is a tough blow for the 22-year old as well as the organization overall.
