Red Sox Go To 'War' Against StubHub And ACE Ticket

And you thought Donald Trump vs. Ted Cruz or Hillary Clinton vs. Bernie Sanders were the big slugfests of 2016! Wait until you see what happens when the new RedSoxReplay.com is up and running on March 1st! The Red Sox-owned secondary ticket market site is taking direct aim at independent operations like StubHub and ACE Ticket—both of which the team has actually partnered with at various times. According to the team, the site (available to all fans) will "have lower fees for buyers than competing sites, and because it is fully integrated with the Red Sox ticketing system, tickets will be sent electronically, eliminating the need for printing and shipping." Red Sox President Sam Kennedy told Sports Business Journal the following: "StubHub was and is a great partner for the industry, but we are interested in exploring something controlled by us." Uh-huh. Man the barricades!
