Former Red Sox infielder Yamaico Navarro—who played all of 36 games wearing Carmine Hose—was arrested in Japan for having a bullet in his carry-on luggage. The 28-year old Dominican claimed he did not know the bullet was in his shoulder bag during a security screening at the Okinawa Airport. Navarro—once considered a top 3B prospect in the Boston organization—hit just .177 for the Red Sox. He was sent to the Kansas City Royals in a 2011 trade-deadline deal that netted Mike Aviles. Navarro was en route to Spring Training for his current team—the Chiba Lotte Marines.
