ESPN.com's Senior Writer Jim Bowden has
awarded the Red Sox the top grade (so far) for off-season performance. The A+ mark comes because of the acquisitions of
David Price,
Craig Kimbrel,
Carson Smith,
Chris Young, and
Roenis Elias. Essentially these pickups—in Bowden's view at least—fulfilled the key roster needs of a top-of-the-rotation starter, closer, fourth outfielder, and bullpen depth. Bingo!
