Could Bruce And Chapman Fill Two Red Sox Needs?

Chapman (L); Bruce (R)
It appears that Dave Dombrowski is willing to deal one of Boston's young outfielders in a trade to acquire a controllable young starting pitcher. That's a good thing. He's also on a mission to re-vamp the Red Sox bullpen—and provide some insurance at the end of games for soon-to-be 41-year old closer Koji Uehara. The Cincinnati Reds may have offered Dombrowski a chance to solve both issues with one transaction. The Reds have made it clear that both OF Jay Bruce and un-hittable closer Aroldis Chapman are available. Bruce is younger and better than Chris Young—another Sox OF target. And, of course, Chapman (who will be just 28 this season) is a phenomenon to behold. Stay tuned!
