Red Sox Fall To Tribe In Penultimate Shutout, 2-0

With just one game left in this dreadful season, Boston can only hope to achieve 79 wins. That's because they were shut out on Saturday by The Sons Of Terry Francona, 2-0. Once again, Craig Breslow pitched well enough to win in just his second MLB start—this time going 5 1/3 innings and giving up just the two earned runs. But, Boston's disappearing offense doomed The Carmine Hose—mustering just three hits—two of them by veteran bench-warmer Sandy León. And, unless Xander Bogaerts gets five hits on Sunday, he will not reach the 200 plateau. So, one more game and they can golf away the Winter to their hearts content. Next year awaits.
