Is Dombrowski Willing To Deal Prospects For Starter?

Gray (L); Harvey (R)
Multiple media reports now suggest that new Red Sox President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski (and his GM Mike Hazen) are open to dealing multiple minor league prospects for young starting pitching. The most often mentioned trade targets are Oakland's Sonny Gray and Matt Harvey of the Mets. Only three minor leaguers are off the table: Yoan Moncada, Andrew Benintendi and RHP Anderson Espinoza. Even if the package has to include a more established player—Dombrowski is reportedly OK with dealing away someone like Blake Swihart as well. Rather than laying out gazillions for free agents like Zack Greinke, Jordan Zimmermann, David Price or Johnny Cueto, Boston could sacrifice some of their future for an established young ace like Gray or Harvey. Sounds like a good strategy to us.
