'Cy' Kelly Wins Sixth Straight, Sox Top Metropolitans, 3-1

Joe Kelly needs to keep that 1970s adult film mustache. The right-hander today won his sixth straight decision—going 7.1 innings and giving up just one earned run in Boston's 3-1 win over the Mets. This, after struggling through the first inning on 30 pitches. The victory was the third straight by The Carmine Hose, whose sixtieth 2015 win moved them—incredibly—to seven games out of a Wild Card spot. Of course, they'd still have to pass six teams to reach Playoff Nirvana. What's becoming increasingly clear is that the youthful core of players really can play. Today, Mookie Betts (2-5, including his12th HR) led the way among the youth—but, the entire crew has been making these recent games worth watching. This, of course, begs the question of what the 2016 team will look like—assuming Dave 'The Mad Trader' Dombrowski doesn't send all of our young guys out of town.
