So Far, De Aza Is FN's 'Under The Radar' Leader

Every year, the editors of FenwayNation honor a Red Sox player who flew "Under The Radar" during the year. Last year, the award went to Alex Wilson (who has since been dealt away) and in 2013 the honoree was Daniel Nava (who now languishes in the AAA wilderness). While we're only a little more than half-way through 2015, Alejandro De Aza is the leader in the clubhouse for that award this year. Since he arrived in Boston via an odd "trade" (he was already DFA'd by the Orioles), De Aza has been a revelation. In 31 games, he's hitting .323 with 19 RBIs. He's got 3 HRs, 5 doubles, 5 triples and 3 stolen bases. And he's brought an energy to the team that's hard to quantify—but definitely there. Of course, it's possible that someone else will emerge as our "Under The Radar" hero for 2015. But right now, De Aza's our man.
