Lately, Yoan Moncada's Been Electrifying A-Ball

Moncada Motors Around The Bases On Inside-The-Park HR
This past off-season, the Red Sox made a big splash by signing 19-year old Cuban phenom Yoan Moncada to a $31.5 million bonus. He was assigned to "A"-ball and struggled early on in his professional career. Lately, however, Moncada has been on fire. In his last ten games, he's batting .415 (and is now hitting .272 on the full season)—with home runs in his last three games for the Single-A Greenville Drive. One of those HRs came yesterday—an inside-the-park job that really showed off his speed and power. He's also swiped 15 bases so far this year. This kid (currently ranked as the #6 overall prospect by MLB.com) looks like the real deal—and he may quickly blow through the lower levels of the Sox organization and get to Portland in fairly short order.
