On Tuesday,
the Red Sox tendered contracts to OF Daniel Nava and P Junichi Tazawa. They did
not tender a contract to recently acquired IF
Juan Francisco and designated him for assignment. Nava—a versatile contributor—hit .270 with four HRs in 113 2014 games for Boston. Tazawa was stellar out of the bullpen last year, posting a 2.86 ERA in 63 innings pitched—with 64 Ks over that span. Both—barring trades—are likely to be key contributors on the 2015 team.
