Just from one day's experience, it feels like
The Panda Era at Fenway Park is going to be a
lot of fun. At yesterday's introductory press conference,
Pablo Sandoval deftly handled an array of questions from the aggressive Boston media (including more than one question on his weight) and showed a
real enthusiasm for his new role on the Red Sox. Something tells us that Sandoval could be one of the most popular
Carmine Hosers in years—on the order of current and previous figures like
David Ortiz,
Kevin Youkilis and
Mo Vaughn. The Panda looks like he
genuinely enjoys playing baseball and will give off an infectious glow that will light up Fenway—not to mention generate a whole new line of souvenir sales. We can hardly wait.
