At least
one AL East rival of the Red Sox has made a move this offseason.
The Toronto Blue Jays today signed free-agent catcher (and Canadian native) Russell Martin to a five-year, $82 million contract. The 31-year old Martin had a big 2014—hitting .290 for the Pirates, with 11 HRs and 67 RBIs in just 111 games. He was a 5.3 WAR for Pittsburgh and is a
major upgrade for the Jays.
