Juggernaut O's Shut Out Super Sloppy Sox, 4-0

The first place Baltimore Orioles have their first double-digit, first-place lead in 35 years. That's how good they are this year—and they showed it tonight in a 4-0 whitewashing of the hapless Red Sox. The O's took advantage of Red Sox errors of omission (many) and commission (three) to completely outclass the cellar-dwelling Carmine Hose. Joe Kelly pitched well enough to lose—going 6.1 innings and giving up three earned runs on six hits. He struck out six, walked three and hit two batters. So, The Valentine Magic Number sits at 7 as this horrific season withers away—oh so very slowly.
